Jack Day Environmental Education Center

Jack Day Center PhotoFormer NEW Water Commissioner Dr. Jack Day has dedicated his career to environmental education, for which this building at the edge of Green Bay bears his name.  In partnership with the City of Green Bay, the Center was built in the mid-1990s to promote environmental education and awareness.

NEW Water has harnessed the Center to provide water information, to partner with community groups on watershed improvement activities, and to educate the public on water quality issues in Northeast Wisconsin.  Events include press conferences, meetings, and various educational outreach initiatives to help further efforts towards water quality improvement in our watershed.

The JDC is being used as the Adaptive Management (AM) Headquarters.  AM is the approach NEW Water and its many community partners have taken to reduce phosphorus in the Lower Fox River Watershed. Read more about NEW Water’s Adaptive Management Pilot Project in Silver Creek.

The Jack Day Center is located at 90 Bay Beach Road in Green Bay.  For more information about the Center, please call 432-4893.
