GBMSD Hosts Search and Recovery Training Exercises

De Pere, WI - The Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District (GBMSD) is proud to announce that it will be hosting the Green Bay Fire Department (GBFD) Technical Team at its De Pere Facility for search and recovery training exercises, along with the De Pere Fire Department.

The training exercises will take place Monday, February 6, and Wednesday, February 8, 2012. GBFD Battalion Chief, Dan Truckey, has been working with GBMSD staff in setting up these training exercises. As part of the exercise, GBMSD will be present during parts of the training and will practice activating its Emergency Response Plan. GBMSD Director of Operations, Pat Wescott said, "GBMSD is happy that it can provide the GBFD Technical Team a place to perform their training exercises. GBMSD is always looking for ways to partner with the community and other organizations."

GBMSD operates two wastewater treatment facilities, in Green Bay and De Pere and provides service to over 217,000 residents in 17 municipalities and one direct customer, treating on average 38 million gallons of wastewater per day. GBMSD encourages pollution prevention and support programs to ensure water contaminated by human activity is retured clean to the environment.
