Green Bay, WI - The Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District (GBMSD) is proud to announce that is Green Bay and De Pere Facilities have each received a 2010 National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) Peak Performance Award.
Given out annually to recognize wastewater utilities for their outstanding permit compliance records, GBMSD's Green Bay Facility has received the NACWA Platinum 8 Award for eight straight years of 100% permit compliance. The De Pere Facility has received the Gold Award for three straight years of 100% permit compliance. Tom Sigmund, GBMSD's Executive Director said, "We, as an organization, have worked very hard to get where we are today by exceeding environmental standards. GBMSD is proud to accept both awards as a sign of its dedication and commitment to protecting public health and the environment."
GBMSD is an award winning organization that promotes public health and welfare through the collection, treatment, and reclamation of wastewater. GBMSD encourages pollution prevention and support programs to help ensure that water contaminated by human activity is returned clean to the environment. GBMSD provides service to over 217,000 residents in 17 municipalities and the Proctor and Gamble Paper Products Company.
